Our Story

Fantina exists on a simple conviction: that the best of Mexico deserves to present itself as what it is.

The honey

We work with two honeys, and they are different on purpose.

The wildflower comes from several blooms of one territory. It is the honey of most of Mexico, and it has what the monofloral does not: a round, floral profile with body. It is the one in the Flora vessel.

The monofloral mesquite comes from the nectar of a single species, a tree native to the Mexican semi-desert that flowers a few weeks a year. That short window limits the volume and defines the flavor: pale honey, low sweetness, never cloying. It is the one in the Enredadera edition.

Both are harvested and jarred where they come from, in Jalisco, bought directly from the beekeepers at prices agreed with them. Raw, never pasteurized. If they crystallize in the cold, that is the sign nobody touched them.

The vessel

Fantina is never bottled in glass. Every piece travels inside a hexagonal ceramic vessel made and painted by hand in Santa María Canchesdá, in the State of Mexico, the town known for its ceramics.

There, ceramic is not an industry. It is an identity. Families have worked the clay for generations. Every vessel is shaped by hand, air-dried, fired, painted freehand without a stencil, and glazed in a second firing that seals the piece.

We work directly with the artisans. No middlemen, no factories. Every numbered piece has a name behind it.

Why editions

The Enredadera edition is 700 numbered pieces. When they are gone, there will be no restock.

It is not a scarcity tactic. It is a consequence: every vessel is painted by hand and no two are alike. Repeating the edition would mean producing something else, not the same thing. When this one closes the next will be another — another brushstroke, another name, another number.

What we are after

To offer the best of Mexican nature inside an object that cannot be repeated, and to celebrate the best moments of a life through the heritage and the flavors of Mexico.
